Summer Music Camp

Band Camp

Band camp is supported by a grant from the Wurlitzer Foundation and brings together Bradley University and the Peoria Symphony Orchestra. The camp, now self-supporting, is intended to attract the young musical talent in the Central Illinois area to participate. Like many camps, students will perform in a concert band and benefit from sectional rehearsals. What makes this camp unique is that we will teach listening skills; use a number of musical transcriptions; and teach useful basic history/theory skills to all students, and that explains the name, “From Playing to Listening!” We hope to inspire the student and their families to be involved with music throughout their lifetime.

Piano Camp

The Bradley University Summer Piano Camp is an intensive and enjoyable piano program for middle school and high school students, ages 11-18, who are interested in enhancing their ongoing piano experience. Each student will continue to develop their pianistic abilities and enrich their musical experiences by attending a variety of courses in keyboard musicianship, music history, improvisation and music composition. Bradley keyboard faculty, Dr. Chee Hyeon Choi and Dr. Adrienne Wiley from Central Michigan University are leading the camp. It will run from Monday, June 4th through Friday June 8th, 2018 from 8:30AM to 4:45PM. A final concert will be held at Dingeldine Music Center at 5pm on Friday, June 8th and will feature solo and ensemble performances by all the student participants. The tuition is $375 for commuters (including lunches) and $650 for residents (including dormitory housing and all meals). Registration is due May 1st online. For questions, please contact Dr. Chee Hyeon Choi at cchoi@fsmail.bradley.edu or (309) 677-2599.
