Library Instruction

Librarians provide instruction on how to find and evaluate printed and electronic information.

Topics can include:

  • the research process using the online catalog
  • doing research in a discipline
  • using electronic journal indexes
  • the differences between web searching and electronic journal indexes

Instruction sessions could be:

  • entire classes coming to the library for a session
  • consultation sessions for students set up during non-class hours
  • working with a librarian to develop a library assignment
  • library exercises or tutorials
  • anything librarians and instructors can dream up
