African-American Studies Courses

AAS 200 - Introduction to African-American Studies (3 hours)

The history of African Americans from their departure from Africa to their arrival in the Caribbean, South America, and North America and up to the present organized chronologically with emphasis on the ideas of black social thought, political protest, and efforts to initiate social change.

AAS 400 - Directed Research in African-American Studies (3 hours)
Directed readings or research for a paper which analyzes, synthesizes, and interprets an area of African-American studies. Prerequisite: AAS 200; 9 hrs. of African-American studies elective courses; or consent of instructor.

This is the official catalog for the 2016-2017 academic year. This catalog serves as a contract between a student and Bradley University.
