Job Fairs can be intimidating, but as a First Generation College Student (meaning your parents have not competed a 4-year college degree) it can be even more challenging because you do not have a network or already know the system. Advisor Carmen Umberger will be sharing advice relevant for any student to prepare for the job fair, but items she specifically wished she would've known as a first generation college student, including how to communicate with employers and when to advocate for yourself.
