STEP 1: BUnetID Activation, setting a new password, Forewarn notifications
Students MUST activate their BUnetID and set a password to complete the registration process for orientation. To activate your BUnetID, please go to your Bradley Bound Status Page and log in with the e-mail address you have been using. If you are having trouble activating your BUnetID and password please refer to the following tutorial video for further assistance.
It may take 24 hours before your BUnetID and password are activated. Once activated, students MUST opt in or out of the Forewarn Emergency Text Messaging system on their MyBU page by clicking onto the “My Info” box.
STEP 2: Orientation sign-up
Before logging in to register for an orientation session, talk with a parent, family member or supporter about who is coming with you and the date that works best for you both. Once you begin the registration process, we will ask you for this information. As is stated above, students are permitted to have one parent, family member or supporter with them. For health and safety reasons we need to limit this number to a single guest you can bring with you. You can make changes in the reservation system up to 72 prior to your assigned session. Within 72 hours, you will need to contact the Orientation office by email or phone. Our contact information is above.
You will need to revisit these pages for important math and world language testing details, health, updated schedules and FAQ’s.
You will receive a confirmation email within two-three business days that provides the following information: important reminders and a check list of “to do” items prior to your session. The information listed here is important, please thoroughly review and print a copy.
STEP 4: Completing Math and World Language Assessments
All students, including those that took an AP exam or that are coming in with Dual Credit, need to take their math assessment as soon as possible. The Math Assessment will take approximately 60-90 minutes to complete. Students should plan on taking the assessment in one sitting. The completion of this assessment will result in you being contacted by a Bradley staff member who will begin working with you on your Fall 2020 schedule.
Students who are interested in taking a foreign language course in the fall need to take the World Language and Cultures assessment by June 8th. You WILL need your six digit ID number that was sent in your welcome packet from Undergraduate Admission when taking the assessment. The World Languages and Cultures assessment and instructions can be found here.
STEP 5: Accessing “Starting Off” and the Math Assessment
Starting Off is Bradley's online orientation module that will be made available to students and supporters prior to Orientation. The program, housed in Bradley's learning management system called Sakai, provides valuable information about campus life, such as safety on campus, along with college welcomes and information on fees and billing that will help prepare you and your supporters as you begin your Bradley University experience. Reviewing in advance of Orientation is highly recommended.
Students, to access the math assessment you will need to log into Starting Off. Please watch the tutorial video here on how to access Starting off. Once you are in, click onto the “Bradley Math Placement” tab, located on the left hand side of the page under Section Six (Campus Life) and above “Calendar”. You will need to log into the assessment with your BUnetID and Password, the same credentials used to sign up for orientation. For more information about the Bradley Math Assessment please click here.
STEP 6: Student Health Form
Illinois State Law requires that students have a completed BU health form, including an immunization history, on file with Health Services. A doctor's physical is not required. Download the form. These forms should be completed and returned to Bradley Health Services, Bradley University, 1501 W. Bradley Avenue, Peoria, IL 61606-9986, or brought with you when you come to campus. For questions on the health form please contact (309) 677-2700 or firstname.lastname@example.org
