The Hilltop buzzed with activity over the weekend as students moved back to campus in preparation for the 2016-2017 school year.

Here are a few fun facts about Bradley’s freshman class:

  • The freshman class of 1,100 students is the largest class in recent years.
  • It is the most ethnically diverse freshman class in Bradley history.
  • Freshmen come from countries such as Australia, Canada, China, Ecuador, Ghana, Jordan, Kuwait, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
  • Gosford, Australia — 9,101 miles from Peoria — is is the farthest a freshman traveled to college.
  • 138 freshmen followed their grandparents, parents or siblings to Bradley.

According to Beloit College’s annual Mindset List, the Class of 2020 grew up in a world in which:

  • You’d better send a text if you want to reach them.
  • West Nile has always been a virus found in the United States.
  • They never had to watch or listen to programs at a scheduled time.
  • They never heard Harry Caray sing the seventh inning stretch at Wrigley Field.
  • There always have been Macs on desks.
