The Art Department’s Fall book arts class presented president Glasser with a copy of a its limited edition book of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven, printed and bound by hand in an edition of 18 copies. Students Ryan Hoevenaar, Sara Foerster, Sarah Mcdonald, Melissa Ritchey, and Sara Scott, along with Professor Robert Rowe created this book using handset type and a variety of printing and book arts techniques. The volume presented to President Glasser is bound calf leather and paste paper, with a book made of cloth with leather onlays. This is the first letterpress printing class that has been offered at Bradley in recent years, and incorporates elements of traditional printing and fine binding.
