If you were wondering how Bradley’s international business program compares to other schools on a global level, the verdict is in.
This is the third consecutive year that Bradley’s Foster College of Business Administration (FCBA) has won the 3 Palmes Award, an honor reserved for international business schools that have gained the reputation of being excellent.
FCBA Dean Robert Baer believes this distinction is something to celebrate.
“Students and faculty and staff here should feel pride in this,” Baer said.
The French corporation Eduniversal, which coordinates the Palmes award, has a unique way of deciding which schools are the best. The company sends deans from various colleges and continents a survey through which each dean assesses the quality and reputation of other business programs globally. Using these results, a panel of 12 judges selects the top 1,000 international business schools on the planet.
The purpose of the awards is to help students evaluate and compare establishments worldwide.
“We place a high value on our international business program,” Baer said. “It’s core to the mission of this college and to be recognized worldwide for that is very gratifying.”
Baer credits the Global Scholar Program as one of the reasons the Foster College of Business Administration won the 3 Palmes Award. The Global Scholar Program is designed to broaden a student’s perspective by providing opportunities to prepare him or her for a career in a global marketplace.
Global Scholar students must study abroad twice in order to gather a better view of the world. Bradley facilitates this with courses like “Doing Business in the Chinese Culture,” in which students learn about the history, politics, religion, business practices and culture of a place for a semester and then travel there over Spring Break.
“I’m just thrilled about it again because the international programs are so important to us and it’s great to be recognized in something that’s so critical to your mission.”
