MFA Thesis Show Openings

Friday, April 29th MFA candidates Darren Jackson, Joshua Bindewald, Mary Beth Koszut, and Anastasia Samoylova will exhibit their thesis work. The shows will be open through May 13th.

It’s now: Reel Affect Real Affection
A video performance installation focusing on the relationship between narrative media and audience empathy.
Heuser Gallery 5 pm – 8 pm
Joshua Bindewald
With an emphasis on physical and emotional geography, Bindewald documents personal memories and his contemporary hopes and fears. Utilizing traditional and contemporary techniques of drawing, painting, collage, printmaking and stitching, he achieves active compositions that are richly layered with content and color and demonstrate a range of physical and spatial depth.
Heuser Gallery 5 pm – 8 pm
Mary Beth Koszut
Koszut’s work discusses the struggle for spiritual wholeness using metaphorical forms inspired by nature. Her abstract oil paintings depict this effort for balance in liminal environments, neither earthly or heavenly, but meeting somewhere in between.
