Winds on the Hilltop

The Music Scholarship Concert Series continues on Sunday, November 16, with performances by the Symphonic Winds and Symphonic Band.

The Bradley University Music Scholarship Concert Series continues on Sunday, November 16, with performances by the Symphonic Winds and Symphonic Band at 3 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue. Proceeds from the series go to scholarships for Bradley music students. Tickets are $10 for adults and free to students. 

Tickets are available at the door prior to the concert or in advance by contacting the Cultural Events Box Office at 309-677-2650.

The Bradley Symphonic Band is the “University Band” comprised of students from across campus. They will perform “Simple Gifts” by Frank Ticheli, “Overture for Winds” by Charles Carter, “Steel” by Randall Standbridge and other selections. 

The Symphonic Winds is the top wind band at the university and is comprised of 50members. They will perform “God’s Country” by Rossano Galante, “Angels in the Architecture” by Frank Ticheli and “Golden Jubilee” by John Philip Sousa.

Dr. David Vroman, Director of Band Activities and the Chairperson for the Department of Music,conducts the Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band, and Basketball Band. During the summer months he is the conductor of the Peoria Municipal Band.
