College of Education and Health Sciences - Department of Education, Counseling, and Leadership, Assistant Professor In Residence, Counseling
The Department of Education, Counseling and Leadership in the College of Education and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time, one-year, Assistant Professor in Residence position to teach graduate counseling courses in the CACREP-approved Master of Arts in Counseling program. The position requires an earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Counselor Education from a CACREP-approved program. The starting date for the position is August 2021.
The Department is seeking applicants to teach core and specialty courses in the clinical mental health and professional school counseling tracks for both the online and on-campus programs. When teaching on-campus courses, the candidate will be expected to teach in person. In addition to teaching, responsibilities of the position include: advising students and participating in prospective student interviews, participating in department and college meetings and committees as appropriate, assisting with departmental responsibilities such as accreditation processes, curriculum and program development, practicum and internship, thesis, and fulfilling other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in counselor education, experience teaching graduate counseling courses; evidence of applied practice in counseling; experience supervising master’s level students in counseling, and clinical license (LCPC) or license eligible in the State of Illinois.
