College of Liberal Arts and Sciences – Assistant Professor in Residence in Criminology
The Department of Sociology, Criminology and Social Work invites applications for a full time, renewable non-tenure track Assistant Professor in Residence in Criminology with an anticipated start date of August, 2021.
Area of specialization for this position is open, although preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses in both Criminology and Sociology. Candidates who can contribute to and add to our existing course offerings in criminology, corrections, and the sociology of violence, deviance and juvenile delinquency, are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants should also demonstrate excellence in teaching. Courses will be delivered on-campus via face-to-face or hybrid instruction.
A Ph.D. in Criminology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or closely related social science field is required by the time of appointment. ABDs with a clear timetable for completion prior to the start of employment will be considered. A J.D. alone is not sufficient for this position.
