Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology – Civil Engineering & Construction, Director of Laboratories

The Department of Civil Engineering and Construction at Bradley University invites applications for the position of a Director of Laboratories and Network Administrator starting as soon as possible during Summer 2019 or until the position is filled.  Duties include providing Information Technology support to the Department of Civil Engineering & Construction (CEC) including Administrating “Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2” servers; Maintaining primary and backup domain controllers, storage server for faculty and students, computers, printers and plotters and network license server for several software packages; Desktop imaging and replacement; Server OS upgrades; Maintenance, purchasing and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment; and Supporting faculty and student activities as needed.  Salary is commensurate with qualifications.

Minimum qualifications include an associate degree and experience in computer technology and networking or a related field.  Knowledge of virtualization technologies (desktops and servers) is a plus.  This position requires someone with strong verbal and written communication skills who is comfortable with changing work requirements in a dynamic office environment. 

Selected candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Job requirements may include lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and maintain computers in offices, classrooms, and labs. Work is performed in a normal office environment with little exposure to outdoor temperatures or dirt and dust.  Working conditions are typically moderately quiet.

The selected candidates will work with renowned faculty.  The department currently has 15 full-time faculty positions, up to 10 part-time faculty and approximately 250 students.  The department holds the renowned Annual Innovations in Construction, Asphalt & Transportation (ICAT) Conference.
