Health Services and Counseling – Case Manager

The Health Services and Counseling Center at Bradley University is seeking a highly motivated, organized and dedicated individual for the position of Case Manager. This position reports to the Director of Counseling.

Responsibilities of this full-time, twelve month non-exempt position will include: managing and coordinating daily operations of the Counseling Center.  The incumbent provides professional in-person and other communications to clients and partners both within and outside of the University; manages intake of clients and coordinates scheduling of appointments; coordinates outreach functions both on and off-campus related to student behavioral concerns; and will be responsible for drafting and implementing protocols associated with the position.  The successful candidate will exhibit a commitment to collaboration, diversity and inclusion, experiential learning, retention, and student wellness.


  • Manage daily operations of the office, including opening and closing, appearance of waiting room; handles both routine and urgent requests for service via phone and in person
  • Coordinates scheduling of appointments for counselors and psychiatrist using EMR
  • Sends reminders to clients
  • Manages flow of students in office and effectively handles high volumes of traffic in the waiting room while communicating sensitive information to clients and protecting clients’ privacy
  • Serves as initial point of contact for the Counseling Center. Creates a welcoming environment where students, parents, faculty/staff, and other visitors feel comfortable
  • Responds quickly and professionally to crisis and potential emergency situations both in-person and on the phone
  • Assists with processing electronic records, including integrating paper document and referrals into the EMR
  • Provide case management support for students needing coordination between multiple support offices on or off campus, providing information and coordinating transitions to community mental health resources, crisis intervention, hospitalizations, and discharge planning
  • Engage in systematic follow up with at-risk students and remains connected to students who take short-term leave for mental health reasons
  • Develop and maintain relationships and a directory of campus and community resources
  • Serve as a contact point for constituents (parents, hospital and University personnel, other community resources) with respect to student cases to mobilize support and address student needs
  • Maintain accurate database for student of concern including hospitalizations, appointments, mandated counseling referrals, community referrals, and other data sets as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

A Bachelor’s degree is required with emphasis on Counseling, Leadership, Social Work, Education or related fields.
