Position Title            Access Services Coordinator

Department              Cullom-Davis Library

Reports to                Access Services/Education Librarian

Appointment            Full-time; 30 hours per week (12 month position)

Pay Rate:                 $12.00 per hour

Open/Close Date    Thursday, September 5, 2019 – Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 4pm

Application Hours   Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 1-4 pm; Thursday and Friday, 9-11 am

 

**NOTE: This position is required to participate in a Sunday staffing rotation schedule.

 

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work assigned shifts at the Information and Circulation Desk including participation in Sunday staffing rotation; charge, discharge, and renew items; ensure quality customer service; assist in the coordination of work of student employees as needed; respond to requests for information and assistance; handle patron problems; complete manual and journal checkout upon request; attend unit and department meetings, training sessions, and workshops; perform other related duties as assigned.

In order to meet the needs of the University, the University retains the right to assign duties and requirements to employees as well as determine and change starting times, quitting times and shifts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Two years library or related office experience that demonstrates: knowledge of library procedures and office equipment; ability to work independently; exhibit sound/accurate judgment; work with sensitive information and records; effectively communication in written, telephone, and personal communications; show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; demonstrate computer literacy; possess experience in Windows-based applications; exhibit good organizational skills, as well as the ability to handle details and multi-step processes; manage/coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and in deadline and participate in Sunday staffing rotation.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Selected candidate must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.  Work is performed in a normal office environment with little exposure to outdoor temperatures or dirt and dust.  Working conditions are typically moderately quiet.
