Enrollment Management– Financial Aid Advisor

The Financial Aid Advisor is an important member of the Financial Assistance Office team that manages student assistance distributed through hundreds of different funds, sources and programs. The Financial Assistance Office is located in the university’s Student Financial Services center and is closely connected to Student Billing and the Controller’s Office.  The Advisor will also interact regularly with the Office of Undergraduate Admission and the Registrar’s Office. This is a full time, year round position, working Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.  Some evenings or weekends may be required.

This position will serve our enrolled students, as well as our prospective students and their families, reviewing, awarding and managing their financial eligibility.  The Advisor will assist students in identifying federal, state, institutional and private sources of educational funding including grants, scholarships and educational borrowing opportunities. 

The Advisor must possess excellent interpersonal skills and work well with all levels of staff and a diverse student population.  The ability to effectively multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously is necessary.  Must be adept at understanding, analyzing, and accurately managing complex, detailed financial information. Experience with managing large bases of data using EXCEL and related software is important.

Minimum requirements include an earned bachelor’s degree, with preference given to candidates with experience in higher education, specifically in enrollment, financial assistance, financial services or student services.
