May's Business and Engineering Complex Update

Summer break is here and the Business and Engineering Complex continues to move ahead.

The weather has been cooperative thus far, so the past 30 days have seen a lot of activity. The first floor elevated slab has been completed, underground utilities on the east side of the building have been completed and backfill around the building is finished.

It's exciting to see the building going vertical as the structural steel installation has commenced. During the next 30 days you will see a lot more of the structural steel being installed as construction moves to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors. The first area for the second floor elevated slab pour is now being formed on the west side of the building. Formwork for this area will be removed once the concrete is poured and will then be moved on to the next section to be poured. Masonry walls and mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins will continue in the basement level.

A high voltage switchover event that will ensure electrical service is maintained at the communication tower after Jobst is demolished is scheduled for this week.
