Saxophone Quartets and Quintets To Present Recital

The Bradley University saxophone quartets and saxophone quintet will present a recital on Thursday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
 
The quartets and quintet are credit ensembles at Bradley open to music majors, minors,
and non-music students by audition. All groups are under the direction of saxophone
affiliate instructor Keith M. Zimmerman and feature both transcriptions and original
works for saxophone quartet and for saxophone quintet drawn from the library of the Illinois Saxophone Quintet.
 
Quartet conposers represented are Gabriel Pierne, Alexander Glazounov, Pierre Lantier,
Lawson Lunde, Astor Piazzola, and Jean Francaix. Quintet pieces are from the writings
of W.A. Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn, and Robert Sibbing.
