Scout Wins Big at Annual Awards Ceremony

The Bradley Scout won 15 awards at the annual Illinois College Press Association awards ceremony last week.  That's up from eight awards last year.  

The Scout won awards for advertising, photography and design to sports, news, and Voice.  The team also took 3rd place in the General Excellence category, ranking Bradley the third best non-daily newspaper in the state at a university with greater than 4,000 students.

Here are the individual awards and recipient names:

The Scout won 3rd place General Excellence. 
Samantha Pallini: 2nd place for Editorial.
Kristin Kreher: 1st place in the Front Page Layout category.
Kristin Kreher: Honorable Mention for Column (Excluding Sports).
Kristin Kreher: Honorable Mention for Advertising (Less Than Full Page).
Maggie Cipriano: Honorable Mention in the Feature Photo category.
Dan Smith: 2nd place in the Sports Photo category.
Sports: 3rd place in Sports Page Design.
Chris Kwiecinski: 1st place for Sports Feature Story.
Aaron Freeman:  3rd place for Sports Feature Story.
Travis Kelso and Chris Walls: Honorable Mention and 3rd place for Classifieds.
Jaylyn Cook and Bahnt Freiberger: 1st place for Critical Review (Film).
Jacob Wulf:  Honorable Mention for Critical Review (Other Than Film).
