Two Chamber Operas

Bradley students enrolled in the opera workshop course are performing two chamber operas, Angry Birdsong and Bluebeard’s Waiting Room. These pieces are the work of award-winning composer, pianist and conductor, Milton Granger. The story of Angry Birdsong centers around “Made to Persuade,” a business designed to help clients conquer their fear of public speaking. Bluebeard’s Waiting Room takes place in the ICU waiting room at a hospital where the wives of Bluebeard meet each other for the first time. The performance is directed by Dr. Kerry Walters with Molly Sloter as the pianist for the program. Tickets are $5 at the door and students are free. Youth Guitar Studio Recital

Led by Affiliate Guitar Faculty Michael Hull, the Bradley University Preparatory School for Youth Guitar Studio Recital will highlight student talents by both ensemble and solo performances. The members of the studio are accomplished members of the Childbloom Guitar Program. Several of them have received certificates from the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto) for their accomplishments at various levels. This performance is free and open to the general public. New Music Concert

Premiers of original music composed by Bradley undergraduate students for mixed chamber ensemble and solo piano are set to be performed. Additionally, music composed by Edgar F. Girtain IV and Bradley composition faculty Dr. Lynnsey Lambrecht will be featured. Peoria Lunaire, a faculty new music ensemble consisting of Marcia Henry Liebenow (violin), Lisette Kielson (flute) and Sarah Hansen (cello), will share the stage with faculty Dr. Chee Hyeon Choi (piano), Dr. Meng-Chen Chien (piano) and Dr. Anne Dervin (clarinet). Student undergraduate composers include Mary Bausman, Reid Chapman, Cole Faulstich, Matthew Lalas, Justin Schepke and Conner Wittman. Admission is free.
