Hospitality Leadership Program Receives Prestigious Accreditation

August 8, 2018

The Hospitality Leadership Program at Bradley University has been granted accreditation from the prestigious Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA). Bradley's program began in 2011 and is one of only two accredited in the state of Illinois.

The ACPHA has accredited fewer than 70 programs in hospitality management, making this a celebrated achievement. This accreditation, which is valid for seven years, means Bradley's program has met or exceed stated standards of educational quality.

Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Walter Zakahi says "This type of recognition proves that our program is one of quality and excellence. When employers hire our graduates, they will be hiring an employee who is prepared for success. With their rigorous learning in this program, the career opportunities are boundless for our students."

The Hospitality Leadership major prepares students to be successful in event planning, lodging facilities such as hotels and resorts, sports venues, theme parks, restaurants, and tourism organizations. All students in the program complete over 600 internship hours during the summers and may participate in semester experiential learning throughout the U.S. and abroad.

This young program has produced more than 50 alumni currently working in organizations throughout the U.S. from the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando to the Fours Seasons and the Westin in St. Louis, as well as, many event/catering companies and hotels around the country.
