Speech Team Wins 10 Events at Tournament

October 3, 2017

The Bradley University Speech Team traveled to Oshkosh, WI for its second tournament of the year. The weekend's team of 15 students won 10 events including top honors as a team toppling topnotch competitors from Western Kentucky University, Northwestern University, and Illinois State University. The tournament was hosted by the Mid-America Forensic League and brought in 13 schools from six different states.

"Geographical preference is something we need to be aware of as we make our way towards nationals in April. Last weekend we were in Colorado, this weekend we are in Wisconsin. Each set of judges has things they prefer to see in speeches and will play a major role for nationals" said Director of Forensics Ken Young.

The team picked up several qualifications for nationals and looks forward to hosting the 6th Annual Dan Smith Invitational on Bradley's campus Sunday October 8th. The invitational is named in honor of Bradley's previous Director of Forensics Dan Smith in recognition of all he did for the program and the forensics community as a whole.
