Mrs. Bradley Statue to Make Full Recovery

As you have likely learned, an unfortunate accident caused the statue of our beloved founder, Lydia Moss Bradley, to go for a tumble. Mrs. Bradley has always been an incredibly tough and resilient woman, thus, she was able to withstand this tragic accident with minimal injury.

Mrs. Bradley has stood tall in the Founder's Circle watching over our students, faculty, and staff since 1997. She has witnessed several students arrive on campus for the very first time as well as part ways after Commencement. Today, however, she is resting comfortably as she recovers from this ordeal.

After the accident on Saturday night, the university called in an ambulance (skid steer) and transported Mrs. Bradley to the hospital (Heuser Art Studio) where she waited for a doctor (Sculpture Professor) to see her. We are happy to report that Sculpture Specialist Mr. Fisher Stolz has given Mrs. Bradley a complete physical and his initial review determined that there is only minimal damage. We expect his complete report later this week.

While she is expected to make a full recovery, the physical therapy will likely take about a month. During that time, she will be cared for in a secure facility where she will be treated by the best of the best.

We invite you to keep sharing your well-wishes on social media as we continue to show them to Mrs. Bradley. Your encouraging words are helping her through it all. Use #GetWellSoonLydia to ensure we see all of your posts.
