First Ever U.S. Online Brain Summit Will Feature International Experts

April 15, 2016

Bradley University, along with the Center for Collaborative Brain Research, will host a unique three-day online Super Brain Summit April 28–30 during which individuals will have the opportunity to learn to self-regulate through brain-body connections.

Spearheaded by Dr. Lori Russell-Chapin, professor and associate dean of the College of Education and Health Sciences, the summit will feature more than a dozen of the world’s foremost brain experts.

“The major goal of the Super Brain Summit is to discuss and teach emotional and physiological self-regulation. Learning how to take charge of our own brain and body is the key. Each session topic will focus on some aspect of intrinsic self-regulation and offer strategies for brain health and understanding brain illnesses,” said Russell-Chapin.

Russell-Chapin serves as the national chair for the Neurocounseling Interest Network and co-authored the 2014 text, Neurotherapy and Neurofeedback: Brain-based Interventions for Psychological and Behavioral Problems.

Experts participating in the summit include Dr. Allen Ivey, the first person to present on neuroscience and counseling at the American Counseling Association eight years ago, and Dr. John Ratey, an associate clinical professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and leading expert in the brain-fitness connection. During Ratey’s session, attendees will delve into why physical activity is essential to our thinking and feeling.

There will be 13 online presentations throughout the three days. Participants may register for one or multiple sessions according to their interests. Professionals also may earn CEUs for each session attended. Go to bradley.edu/SuperBrainSummit for the details and to register. Registration closes April 22.
