String Chamber Music Concert is May 3

A String Chamber Music Concert featuring student ensembles from the Department of Music at Bradley University will be presented on Tuesday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue. The recital is free and open to the public.

The recital will feature two string quartets, a quintet for clarinet and strings, and a violin trio. Works being performed are Quartet in C Minor, Op. 18, No. 4 by Ludwig van Beethoven, the first movement of the Clarinet Quintet in A Major, K. 581 by W. A. Mozart, Antonin Dvorak’s “American” String Quartet in F Major, Op. 96, and violin trios by Joseph Hellmesberger and Modest Moussorgsky.

Performing in the recital are violinists Hannah Gudeman, Julie Haring, Kayla Michaels, and Molly Wilson; violists Lindsay Kozlowski and Amber McGhee; cellists Billy Akers and Mikaela Hawkins, and clarinetist Evan Leong.

The chamber music ensembles are coached by Marcia Henry Liebenow, who is the professor of violin, viola, and chamber music at Bradley and Concertmaster of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra.
