Presidential Search Committee

The Board of Trustees met last week to discuss transition plans and the search for Bradley’s next President. It was determined that the search will begin immediately with the hope of having the new President join the University prior to the Fall 2015 semester. A search committee is being appointed in accordance with the procedures outlined in Bradley’s Faculty Handbook. In addition, a yet to be named search firm, that specializes in higher education executive searches will assist in the process.

The search committee will consist of twelve members. Three faculty members will be elected by the University Senate and nine members have been selected by the Board of Trustees Executive Committee. The members appointed by the Board are:

  1. Jason Blumenthal (Student Representative), Student Body President, Bradley University
  2. James Shadid (Alumni Representative to the Board), Federal Judge, Central District of Illinois
  3. David Bozeman, Senior Vice President, Caterpillar, Inc.
  4. Gary A. Burk, Retired Chief Operating Officer/Vice Chairman, Duke Realty
  5. Calvin G. Butler, Jr., Chief Executive Officer, Baltimore Gas & Electric
  6. Cheryl D. Corley, Midwest Correspondent, National Public Radio
  7. Stephen Gorman, Chief Executive Officer, Borden Dairy Company
  8. Kathleen M.B. Holst, President, RCMS
  9. Mel Smith, President, Investment Concepts, Inc.

Ex Officio: Doug Stewart, Regional President, PNC Bank 

The search for Bradley’s next president is a crucial step at a critical time in the University’s history. The Board of Trustees recognizes that the Bradley community will approach the process engaged and with a spirit of civility.

The Board also acknowledges the outstanding leadership and accomplishments of President Glasser who has kept students, their success and their Bradley experience at the heart of her presidency. She has been an exceptional fundraiser, who worked tirelessly to engage donors and alumni. President Glasser has led Bradley to national distinction by strongly promoting academic excellence while also working to modernize and beautify Bradley's campus. We wish her the best in her future endeavors.
