3rd Annual Charley Steiner Symposium on Sports Communication
October 20, 2017
Some big names in sports communication will gather at Bradley University for the 3rd annual Charley Steiner Symposium on Sports Communication on Tuesday, November 7.
The event's namesake, Charley Steiner (four-time Emmy Award winner, National Radio Hall of Fame inductee, LA Dodgers play-by-play announcer, and Bradley alumnus) will headline the event. Participants include Larry King, Matt Savoie (Bradley alumnus, Olympian and former competitive figure skater) and Rick Telander (senior sports columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times) and many more.
The program includes multiple sessions covering topics of The Rise and Fall of ESPN, New Media Challenges and Opportunities, Perspectives of the Olympics and Paralympics, and others. All are open to the public
Bradley University President Gary Roberts says this symposium provides students with access to experts in the sports communication field. "Our students and the public have a chance to meet and learn from those who are working in the industry. These professionals can lend their valuable insight while giving our students an experience they wouldn't get anywhere else."
Bradley has the first named school of its kind in the nation in the Charley Steiner School of Sports Communication. It offers numerous programs and the very best curriculum in sports broadcasting, promotions, new media, journalism, and play-by-play announcing.
