Body Acceptance Week at Bradley University

With finals on the horizon, students are more likely to experience high levels of stress. To counteract this, The Body Project at Bradley University created some fun, engaging and impactful activities that promote self-care and self-love for their fellow peers.

The Body Project faculty coordinator, Danielle Glassmeyer, explains, "As the semester starts to wrap up, body acceptance and self-esteem can be the most fraught due to other anxieties." Accordingly, The Body Project created Body Acceptance Week. Please view their schedule of events listed below.

Body Positivity Bingo

Today | December 2
7 p.m. | Michel Student Center, Executive Suite
This event provides an opportunity to learn about Body Positivity by means of an interactive bingo game (with prizes).


Donut Body Shame & Trash Your Insecurities

Tomorrow | December 3
3 - 5 p.m. | Michel Student Center
Participants will grab a donut for each negative thought written down. They will then throw the negative thought in the trash.


College Student Awareness Compliment Cards & Pledge

Thursday | December 5
3 - 5 p.m. | Michel Student Center
Students will be given Body Positive Compliment Cards -- learning and sharing ways to re-think compliments from appearance ideal focused to statements that affirm worth for accomplishments.


Scale Smashing

Friday | December 6
2:30 - 4:30 p.m. | Olin Quad
The goal of the Scale Smashing event is to literally smash the traditional tools by which we measure our own body satisfaction. This will encourage participants to understand their bodies in terms of wellness rather than a number. This event will be the culmination of Body Acceptance Week at Bradley.
