Percussion around the World

Sunday | February 9
3 p.m. | Dingeldine Music Center
The Bradley University Department of Music and the Bradley Percussion Ensemble present "Percussion around the World" as a part of the Music Scholarship Concert Series. This concert will showcase classic arrangements by Irv Cottler, the original drummer for Frank Sinatra, and Dinah Shore. These arrangements were recorded on LP Vinyl in 1962 as one of the first “stereophonic” albums to showcase this “new technology.” These arrangements, however, have never been performed live outside of the recording studio, making this concert performance a world premiere. Tickets are $10 for adults and are available at the door. Student admission is free.

Faculty Member Guitar Recital

Sunday | February 16
3 p.m. | Dingeldine Music Center
Michael W. Hull, affiliate guitar instructor at Bradley University, will present a recital featuring works from the Renaissance, Spanish Romantic, Modern Era and more. Some of the recital highlights will include Leyenda (Legend) by the Spanish composer Isaac Albeniz, pieces by guitarist Roland Dyens, and several short works by Robert Benedict. The program will also include a lecture, in which the audience and aspiring players can learn about various new works by modern composers as well as standard favorites from earlier eras. Admission is free and open to the general public.
