Concerto-Aria Competition Winners in Concert

The Bradley Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will present the three winners of the university’s annual concerto/aria competition in concert on Sunday, March 10 at 3 p.m. at the Dingeldine Music Center on the campus of Bradley University.
 
This year’s winners are Aria Cramer - soprano, Taylor Wells - marimba, and Nina Bui - flute. Ms. Cramer will perform “Convien partir” from Donizetti’s La Figlia del Reggimento and “Kommt ein schlanker Bursch” from Weber’s Der Freischütz. Ms. Wells will perform the first movement of Rosauro’s Marimba Concerto No. 1. Ms. Bui will perform the Poem for Flute and Orchestra by Griffes.
 
The program will also include Rossini’s Il Signor Bruschino Overture - conducted by Nolan Ruthe, Rimsky Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol, and John Williams’ Highlights from Jurassic Park. The BSO will be under the direction of music director Dr. Timothy Semanik.
