A Latinx Conference & Hispanic Heritage Banquet at Bradley

Bradley is wrapping up Hispanic Heritage Month with an all-day celebration.

Starting at 10 a.m. October 21, Bradley is hosting the Latinx Regional Conference in the Hayden-Clark Alumni Center. This is a networking event that brings together different students and professional organizations across the Midwest in hopes to build a stronger Latinx network. Student-led workshops will focus on socioeconomic topics including "Knowing your rights, "Latinx leadership," and "Latinx art and culture." The public is invited to attend. Students from other area schools including the University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign, Western University, Missouri University of Science and Technology have been invited. Registration is encouraged.

Additionally on October 21 the Association of Latin American Students (ALAS) presents its 8th Annual Hispanic Heritage Banquet. It will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Peplow Pavilion in the Hayden-Clark Alumni Center. This red carpet event will honor some of the outstanding Latinx leaders at Bradley and the community. A keynote speech will be given by international presenter and assistant professor at Bradley, Dr. Juan Rios Vega. There will be food, a photobooth, a guest salsa performance and music. The public is welcome to attend. Registration is encouraged.
