Saxophone Quartet Recital April 18

The Bradley University Saxophone Quartet, under the leadership of saxophone teacher Keith M. Zimmerman, will appear in a recital on Saturday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue. The performance is free and open to the public.

The quartet is a credit ensemble class open to music majors, minors, and non-music students by audition and does a full recital each semester.

For this recital the quartet will play a combination of original French and American saxophone quartet literature and several transcriptions with composers including Gabriel Pierne, Jack Marshall who wrote for Hollywood movies for many years, Georges Bizet, Scott Joplin and Claude Debussy. The music represents styles from the late 19th through most of the 20th Century from ragtime and cakewalk styles to opera and both light and virtuoso concert saxophone works.
