Dr. Sherman receives prestigious community award

Dr. Nancy Sherman from the Department of Leadership in Education, Nonprofits and Counseling was the recipient of the 2016 Women to Women Award for Education/Arts.  This is awarded annually to one local woman who has had an accomplished career and has displayed leadership in education or the arts.  

Dr. Sherman is the interim Associate Dean for Distance Education and a professor teaching primarily the courses of Assessment in Counseling, Pre-practicum, and Practicum/Internship.  She joined Bradley in 1992.

Since 1995, Dr. Sherman has served as Faculty Advisor to the Beta Phi Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, International Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society. The Beta Phi Chapter has received six international awards of excellence, including Outstanding Chapter of 2008 and Outstanding Chapter Faculty Advisor and Outstanding Practitioner/Supervisor in 2014. In the community, Dr. Sherman serves as Chair of the Human Rights Review Board for EP!C (formerly PARC) and facilitates supervision groups for counselors seeking licensure as LCPC.

This prestigious award is part of the annual Women to Women Leader Luncheon event hosted by the Women's Fund of The Community Foundation of Central Illinois.
