Immigration and Immigration Polices Subject of Lecture

The Bradley University LAS Lecture Series will host a presentation titled "'Floods', 'Invaders' and 'Parasites': The Rise of Right-Wing Populism and Immigration Threat Narratives in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia" on Wednesday, February 25, at 7 p.m. in the Wyckoff Room in Cullom-Davis Library.

The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Jackie Hogan, associate professor of sociology and chair of the Asian Studies program at Bradley.

Dr. Hogan will delve into current debates surrounding immigration and immigration policies in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia. Her research on gender, race and national identity allows her to bring great insight into symbolic boundaries and the construction of complex and shifting categories of "Us" and "Them."

A reception will follow the lecture.
