Symphonic Band and Winds Performance

The Music Scholarship Concert Series continues at Bradley with performances by the Symphonic Band and Symphonic Winds. Led by Dr. David Vroman, the 95-member Symphonic Band will perform Fanfare and Flourishes by James Curnow, Of Sailors and Whales by Francis McBeth, Sakura Sakura arranged by Ray Cramer, and Alamo March by Karl King. The select Symphonic Winds will perform Pas Redoublés by Camille Saint Saens, The Last Spring by Edward Grieg, Russian Christmas Music by Alfred Reed, and Circus Bee March by Henry Fillmore. 31st Annual High School Honor Band Performance

Led by Dr. David Vroman, this performance will feature 90 of the top instrumental students from 33 Central Illinois High Schools.* This opportunity provides comradery across school walls, while also encouraging students to develop important leadership qualities. The Bradley Symphonic Winds will open the performance. Tickets are $5 for adults and free to students. Jazz Combo Concert

Under the direction of Dr. Todd Kelly, the jazz program at Bradley includes two big bands, one combo, and courses in Jazz History and Jazz Improvisation. The group includes Matt Grebner on alto saxophone, Trever Linkin on tenor sax, Justin Schepke on piano, Quin Cheek on bass, and Dawson Ouellette on drums. They will present music for small jazz group in a variety of styles. The Bradley Jazz Ensemble has performed with such jazz artists as Mike Vax, Mike Lee, Matt Wilson, and Allen Vizzutti, Byron Stripling, Chris Vadala, the Jeff Hamilton Trio, Wayne Bergeron, Denis DiBlasio, Michael Davis, and Allen Vizzutti. Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Groove Project

Directed by Angie Dorough and Todd Kelly, the Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Groove Project will perform a series of jazz works. The Vocal Jazz Ensemble is Bradley’s newest jazz group and will perform selections for vocal ensemble in jazz and popular styles. Community Chorus and Symphony Orchestra Performance

4 p.m. | St. Mary's Cathedral (Peoria, IL)
The Bradley Community Chorus and Symphony Orchestra will perform Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo!, a 21st-century masterwork that brings a global perspective to the beloved Psalm 100. The work is in seven different languages and draws from a wide spectrum of musical influences. Each movement combines some characteristics of its language group's musical culture with the composer’s own musical language. Dr. Cory Ganschow - Director of Choral Activities and Dr. Timothy Semanik - director of the Bradley Symphony Orchestra, will conduct. General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Bradley New Music Concert
