Advising Prep / Pre-Advising

Peer Mentors & Student Aides are available during advising and registration times to help students with the following registration-related topics:

  • Achieve degree audits,
  • navigating the Schedule of Classes and Undergraduate Catalog,
  • long-term academic planning,
  • creating schedule options for students to take to advising appointments 

When Peer Mentors / Student Aides are scheduled for office hours, if they are not in a meeting, they will be available for drop-in assistance. We strongly recommend booking an appointment in order to guarantee you will be able to meet with a Peer Mentor / Student Aide. Their schedules can be viewed and appointments can be booked online following the instructions below.

  1. Login to SSC Campus
  2. Click "Get Academic Support"
  3. Select "Academic Support"
  4. From the next dropdown, select "Advising Prep / Pre-Advising"
  5. Click "Next"
  6. Select "Academic Success Center" from the location dropdown
  7. Clicking in the box that says "Any Advisor" should give you specific Peer Mentor/Student Aide names. If you have no preference, you may leave this blank, then click "Next"
  8. Be sure to click all the way through to confirm the appointment. You will receive a confirmation email. If you did not receive this email, your appointment is not confirmed

Richard Groh

My name is Richard Groh and I grew in Park Ridge, IL. I am majoring in Nursing and would like to continue my education in research and community wellness education. On campus you will see me frequently studying on the quad since I love to be outdoors.

My name is Sean Morris, I am currently a junior Electrical Engineering major from Buffalo Grove, Illinois. I went to Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire and was very involved the marching and jazz bands. I love cars and fish... if that isn't a weird mix then I don't know what is!

My name is Catherine Parello, and I am a junior English Education double major from the great town of Naperville, IL. You can find me partaking in weekly shenanigans as a member of the BBQ Kitten improv troupe, hanging out at the Newman Center, or scoping out campus for dogs to pet. I'm so excited to be on the academic mentoring team this year!

My name is Jon Spray. I grew up in St. Louis, MO. I am a junior Mechanical Engineering major. I am a student trainer in Wags for Mags and I am also an active member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. I am a big dog lover. I love watching football and my favorite show is Impractical Jokers.
