This project is designed to show evidence that a student is absorbing what they are being taught over the course of study and can apply and examine that knowledge using a specific idea or topic. Prerequisite: Graduate standing and consent of department chair.
COM 601 - Sports, Culture, and Society

Introduces the core components of sports communication industries and analyzes the relationships and economies between professional sport contexts. Prerequisite: Graduate standing and consent of Department Chair.
COM 602 - Ethical and legal issues in sports communication

Gen. Ed.
Emphasizes the ethical and legal issues that affect sports communication. Will include case studies of ethical and legal compliance and violation. Prerequisite: Graduate standing and consent of department chair.
COM 603 - The Stories of Sport

Introduces the role and importance of storytelling in sports contexts with the goal to identify strategic ways to use stories in sports publicity and promotion. Prerequisite: Graduate standing and consent of Department Chair.
COM 604 - Seminar in E-Sports

Offers an overview of E-Sports industries, including the benefits, inclusiveness, and structure of E-Sports organizations and competitions. Prerequisite: Graduate standing and consent of Department Chair.
COM 605 - Contemporary Issues in Sports Communication

As a Bradley advertising and public relations major, you learn how strategic planning can strengthen your organization’s brand while giving you the tools to communicate with diverse audiences. Courses teach you how to design and evaluate campaigns and how special events, social media and news media can foster key relationships for brand success.
As your senior project, you and a team of classmates will design a real-world advertising or public relations campaign for a Peoria-based business or nonprofit organization. Beyond the classroom, you can intern at advertising agencies, corporate sales divisions or the annual Chicago Auto Show. You can also participate in campus organizations such as Bradley’s American Advertising Federation chapter, Bradley’s Public Relations Student Society of America chapter and the nation’s most-decorated speech team.
Bradley’s advertising and public relations program successfully prepares you to enter the workforce or continue your education. In recent years, almost all advertising and public relations majors found jobs or enrolled in graduate school within six months of graduation. They’re working at places like CDW, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Target, FleishmanHillard, Agri-AFC, Susan G. Komen Foundation, McDonald’s, MGM Studios and various advertising agencies. Others attend graduate school at Ball State University, Northwestern University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
