Dean Search - Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology

Bradley University announces a nationwide search for the dean of the Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology, due to the pending retirement of the current dean, Lex Akers.

The Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology currently enrolls approximately 800 students and employs approximately 50 full-time faculty. With a focus on undergraduate engineering education, our goal is to educate and graduate fully integrated individuals who possess the technical and social competence and confidence to succeed in professional practice and advanced education, to be lifelong learners, and to exercise responsible citizenship. Bradley’s campus has an atmosphere of open inquiry and exploration. This enhances the sound technical foundation that the university’s engineering and technology students receive.

This fall the university opened its new $100M+ Business and Engineering Convergence Center, which houses the Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology and the Foster College of Business. As a home for the next generation of industry leaders, engineering and business students collaborate on new technology and forward-thinking business practices that will create new jobs and sustain their careers.

The incoming dean will need to embrace the convergence educational model and be able to work closely with the dean of the Foster College of Business. The best candidates will be inspirational leaders who can lead transformative change, have strategic vision, the highest integrity, exemplary communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a consensus-building leadership style. This is an exceptional opportunity for a distinguished leader.
