Pass/Fail, Refunds and more COVID-19 Updates
Week three of virtual learning is upon us already. How are you doing? Are you having any issues in your virtual classes? Is your technology at home supporting your needs? Are you staying connected to your friends and faculty? If you have any concerns or questions, don't forget the Student Engagement Team is ready to help. You can email them your concerns at email@example.com or text 516-900-6872 and someone will be in touch right away to assist you.
The current Stay At Home order for Illinois continues through Thursday, April 30. The Governor’s office warns even if the number of cases flattens or declines, the virus could make a big comeback if the state eases its preventative efforts too soon. Bradley will continue to abide by the state’s orders, and we hope you will too.
As an undergraduate or graduate student, you can elect to convert any of your course grades for the spring 2020 semester to Pass/Fail. Once your final grades have been submitted, you will have three (3) business days to select that change. A letter grade of C or better will convert to Pass; a D or F will convert to Fail. A Pass/Fail choice means the grade will not count toward your GPA, but you will earn the associated credit hours for any passing grade. It is imperative that you check with your advisor before making this decision as it may impact each student differently.
Advising and Registration
Academic advising is underway now through April 23. You must meet with your advisor prior to registering; doing so also enables the academic advising hold to be lifted. Registration runs April 16 through April 23.
Housing and Meal Refunds
Refunds for campus housing and meal plans should be posted to students’ accounts next week. For those students who lived in the residence halls and SAC during the spring 2020 semester, but are not currently living in those buildings, they will be issued a refund prorated at 44% of the housing and meal plans for the spring semester. Questions regarding student billing should be directed to the Bursar's Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or (309) 677-3120.
St. James residents during the spring 2020 semester should have already applied for eligibility for April and May rent forgiveness. Questions related to St. James and Off-Campus Properties should be directed to email@example.com or (309) 677-2100.
Bradley University is only responsible for its residence halls, St. James, SAC, Pi Kappa Phi, and Delta Tau Delta houses. All other housing operations, including Main Street Commons, individual rental properties, fraternities and sororities are operated by outside agencies. All questions regarding the operations of these properties should be taken directly to the appropriate landlord.
Many of you have asked about when you can move out of your campus residences. We have made the decision to not coordinate any move-outs during this current Stay at Home order from the Governor. We are, however, developing plans for what move-out may look like in May with some contingency plans as well. We know this is important to you and will communicate these plans with you once they are defined.
