Return to Work - Remote Work Options

Dear Bradley Employees,

Another semester is almost in the books and we’re preparing for fall. As you know, we’re planning to return primarily to face-to-face, in-person instruction while complying with local, state and federal COVID-19 related guidelines. It’s also our intent to welcome employees back to campus for work in early August.


As we continue to develop our plans, we’re aware of the impact repopulating our campus will have. We’re listening to the experts regarding workplace capacity, and we’re creating our plans around those guidelines.


Over the past year, we’ve learned remote and/or hybrid working scenarios may be the future of the workplace. After considerable conversation and reflection, we’ve decided to embrace the cultural shift to include remote work options for Bradley. I believe providing remote or hybrid work options is the smart thing to do. It’s also the right thing to do.


Some positions will be required to resume work on campus, while others won’t. Decisions will be based on the responsibilities of each position. If you’re interested in exploring your options, speak with your supervisor.


remote-work decision tree and assessment has been created to help assist a supervisor and employee consider a remote-work agreement. Supervisors, along with the vice president of your division and human resources staff, will make the final decisions about remote-work arrangements. Additionally, an interim remote-work policy is available to review the details of the arrangement. You can find these documents on the Human Resources page under the employee info tab.


Decisions regarding work arrangements should be concluded by July 15, 2021, so they may begin in early August. We encourage you to discuss your options for remote or hybrid work with your supervisor soon. We want to ensure plenty of time for those who plan to return to campus to make any necessary arrangements to transition and reacclimate.


We appreciate the flexibility and resilience you’ve demonstrated over the past year. Whether you’re working on campus or remotely, you’re a valued member of the Bradley community. We look forward to a vibrant return to campus in the fall.
