Move-out Process
Students will be able to resume moving out of their residence hall rooms, SAC and St. James apartments beginning Friday, May 1. The procedures for individual locations will be sent directly to your student in the next 24 hours and a summary for each location is provided below.
We ask that no more than three (3) people, including your student, enter a building and room or apartment to help with your student’s move. Roommates should NOT move-out of a room at the same time. During the move-out process, no one will be allowed to stay overnight in their residence hall or apartment except. The only exceptions to staying overnight will be those who have been approved to be living in their residence hall or apartment.
Residence Halls – move-out must be completed by Sunday, June 14. Each residence hall will have an individual sign-up process. Sign-ups are in three-hour blocks beginning at 7 AM and ending at 10 PM. In each block, a maximum of three residents will be able to move-out of the building at a time. The 7-10 AM time block, Sunday through Friday, will be limited to one resident per building, and this time block is reserved for anyone who may be immunocompromised.
If you have questions please contact housing@bradley.eduor if you need to set-up a potential alternate move-out arrangement please fill out this form.
Student Apartment Complex (SAC) – move-out must be completed by Monday, May 25. SAC will also have an individual sign-up process that mirrors the residence hall process. If you are planning on living in your SAC apartment next year and have signed a 12-month lease for next year, you do not need to move out.
St. James Apartments – for all students who did not renew, or have approved extensions through the Off-Campus Office, you must complete your move out by Monday, May 25. There will be no sign-up process to move out of St. James. Roommates should NOT move-out at the same time. Those current students transferring from one St James apartment to another inside the complex will be notified by the Off-Campus Office when their transfer is available. If you have questions or need to set-up a potential alternate arrangement please contact stjamesinfo@fsmail.bradley.edu.
Students moving into St. James will be emailed information the week of May 18th. All other housing operations, including Main Street Commons, individual rental properties, fraternities and sororities are operated by outside agencies and may schedule their own move-out processes. All questions regarding the operations of these properties should be directed to the appropriate landlord.
We recognize this schedule may not work for all of our students. We are prepared to be as responsive as we can be so please reach out to the specific location using forms or email addresses above to discuss further accommodations. There are many more details that have been and will be provided directly to your student about move-out.
Health and Safety
Bradley University recognizes the challenges presented to you and to us as an institution in this move-out process. We have consulted with the Peoria County Health Department and Bradley’s Medical Director in the creation of this process. Peoria County Health Department has requested that those who are within a 50-mile radius of Bradley be giving priority to sign up first for move-out
As you move-out, please respect all physical distancing guidelines in place, including the governor’s order to wear a mask when physical distancing cannot be attained. We ask that you wear a mask while inside a building. You will also want to bring your own cleaning products to clean surfaces, elevator buttons, etc. These areas will also be cleaned by our staff.
There is no sign-up process in St. James because these areas should be appropriately physically distanced as a part of the building structures (i.e. there are no elevators, smaller buildings, roommates not moving out together, etc.).
