Spring 2021 Housing
ALL Residence Halls will close Sunday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m. If students are returning for the spring semester, they do not need to move all of their belongings out of the residence halls. Also, there is no sign out or pick up process to leave. At the end of this email are the guidelines for leaving for the semester.
ALL Residence Halls will reopen Sunday, Jan. 24, at 1 p.m. Residential dining facilities will also reopen Sunday, Jan. 24. No early move-ins will be approved.
If you need to stay in your current residence between Nov. 22 and Jan. 24, you must receive prior approval. Requests to stay in your residence past the move out date can be made here. The request deadline is Monday, Nov. 16. Additional charges may apply and no dining services will be available during this time.
Not Returning to Bradley: If you are not returning to Bradley for the spring semester, you must contact Susan Walker at slwalker@bradley.edu to notify the university and complete an exit survey. Please complete a mail forwarding card at the hall office and return your key. Failure to return your key will result in a $35 charge. You may not leave items in your room, and you are expected to move out completely by Sunday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m
Remote learning for spring 2021: If you are going to be a remote learner for the spring semester, be sure you are approved to be a remote learner by verifying it through Webster. You may reside in the residence halls as a remote learner.
If you don’t plan to return to the residence halls in January, you must notify housing@bradley.edu to cancel your housing for the spring semester. You may not leave items in your room, and you are expected to move out completely by Sunday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m. Please complete a mail forwarding card at the hall office and return your key. Failure to return your key will result in a $35 charge.
You can make changes to your remote learning designation until 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, within Webster. If you do not make a selection by the deadline, you will be designated as attending classes on campus and be charged for housing for the spring semester. If you make a remote learning designation after Sunday, Nov. 22, you must completely move all items out of your room by Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, or you will be charged full housing costs for the spring semester. Mail service and package delivery to the residence halls stops Saturday, Nov. 21, and will resume Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021. Mail and packages will not be available for pick-up during this time. If you are expecting mail or packages, make sure they arrive before Nov. 20.
Guidelines to follow when leaving campus:
Residence hall staff members and/or university police may enter your room during break to ensure that you have vacated the building. Please be sure to check the following:
- Turn off all alarm clocks
- Close windows
- Turn off and unplug all straighteners, curling irons, blow dryers, etc.
- Empty your trash
- Turn your heater on low (never turn off)
- Remove items placed in front of heating vents
- Pull your window blinds all the way up (those living on ground or first floor should put their window blinds down)
- Check your fridge to make sure nothing will spoil and smell bad when you get back
- Lock your door after the last roommate leaves
