Positive COVID Cases at Bradley

Dear Bradley Community,

We are aware of a COVID outbreak on Bradley's campus involving members of our orientation program. At this time, eight individuals have tested positive. Our process, including aggressive contact tracing from the initial suspected case, led us to do additional testing at the first indication of the virus's presence.

Consistent with our processes, we are now working through identifying any additional potential exposures so that we can contain the situation. The campus individuals immediately affected in this case have been contacted and have either already tested or are being scheduled for testing. They are also quarantined for a minimum of 14 days.

We will be working with the Peoria City/County Health Department on further contact tracing and to obtain details on the full scope of the situation. We continue to contact trace for other individuals involved. If you were involved in orientation in any way, we recommend monitoring your symptoms since you are considered a contact at this point.

For contact tracing, we will use the following notification process:

Close contact - If you were identified as someone who was within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, you will receive a phone call and/or text message from Bradley University Health Services. Action will be needed.
Contact - If you are not at risk, but you have some connection with a person who tested positive you will receive an email message from the university. Action in this case is NOT needed unless you begin to develop symptoms.
We will provide further details as we learn more.
