Many reasons pointed to Canvas being a superior LMS for Bradley. Canvas is the industry leader, with very high customer satisfaction. The majority of institutions that formerly used Sakai have migrated to Canvas, with the adoption rate of Canvas at these schools exceeding the use of Sakai in a short period of time. Canvas is viewed as the most intuitive, feature-rich, and interoperable LMS product on the market, with a growing market share. Canvas features a mobile app, student outcomes tool, a speed grader, and built-in video tools. It works well with online test proctoring and other testing tools, publisher’s content, test banks, and more. Further, Canvas does not inhibit the full functionality of systems like Turnitin, Panopto, Zoom, Google Drive files, and MS Office products.
When Will Canvas be Available?
On June 25, the contract was executed and implementation began. That does not mean all aspects of Canvas are ready immediately. Bradley has had an instance of Canvas for over a year for testing purposes, and over the course of the next couple of weeks, this instance will be integrated with Bradley’s identity management system so that people can log in with their Bradley credentials. Our instance of Canvas will also be integrated with Bradley’s course information system so that course shells can be created and student rosters added automatically. Once these primary integrations occur, faculty, staff, and students will be invited to log in to Canvas to learn the system and work on their sites. Please watch your email and BNews for future announcements.
