Sakai Quick Start Guide

The Sakai website is at sakai.bradley.edu. Click the “Bradley Login” link at top right of the system access web page, enter your BUnetID and password, and click “Login.” Logging in successfully takes you to Home, your personal pages in Sakai.

Home

Home is a set of individual, online pages that act as a personal workspace for each student. You will see the Message of the Day and other information boxes on the main page. By default, these boxes contain information from the system administrator and announcements, calendar items, and links to the Forums tool from your courses. You can customize individual Home page boxes by clicking on Options or Edit tabs, or on a View drop-down list, and make changes.

Exploring Tabs

Sites in which you are enrolled display as buttons in rows across the top center of every Sakai screen. If you are a participant in more sites than there is screen space for buttons, additional sites can be accessed by clicking on the Sites checkerboard icon at top right of every Sakai page.

Course Site Tools

Once you click a course site button, you will see a site page with a left-hand side tools menu.

You will use this menu and tools to navigate to different parts of the course site. Instructors may add more tools than those shown here. Here is a brief explanation of the most common tools found in Sakai course sites.

  • Home: Displays overview information for your course
  • Syllabus: Contains the course syllabus
  • Calendar: A calendar for course events
  • Announcements: View announcements here from the Instructor about timely course events
