Finding Titanic with Dr. Bob Ballard
OLLI’s Voices and Visionaries Series, Thursday, Sept. 25, Renaissance Coliseum, Bradley University Campus
OLLI at Bradley University is thrilled to welcome world-renowned oceanographer Dr. Bob Ballard for a once-in-a-lifetime evening of adventure, innovation, and the secret mission behind one of the greatest deep-sea explorations of all time.
Dr. Ballard’s presentation will include behind-the-scenes insights, personal reflections, and untold stories from his groundbreaking expedition that revealed the Titanic’s resting place—a discovery rooted in a top-secret Cold War mission.
Dr. Ballard is the inaugural headliner for OLLI’s Voices and Visionaries Distinguished Speaker Series, made possible by the generosity of two anonymous OLLI donors and presented in conjunction with the Peoria Riverfront Museum’s world premiere of Finding Titanic: The Secret Mission.
Admission is free, but registration is required to attend.
After you register, keep an eye on your inbox. On Sept. 8, you’ll receive directions to Renaissance Coliseum and a map for free parking, and check-in information.
Finding Titanic Exhibition, Saturday, Sept. 27, Peoria Riverfront Museum
Dr. Ballard will unveil Finding Titanic: The Secret Mission, an exhibit featuring never-before-shared secrets and breakthrough technologies behind the historic find. That evening, the Peoria Symphony Orchestra will host a related event: performing James Horner’s famous score during a screening of James Cameron’s Oscar-winning 1997 film, Titanic.
