State Champs

The Bradley University speech team captured its 18th consecutive state championship at Illinois Central College the weekend of March 3-4.  Twenty-two colleges and universities competed for the state crown.

Bradley scored 353 points to top Illinois State University (211), Northwestern University (104), North Central College (96) and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (41) in the top five.  In addition to the team title, Bradley brought home five individual state championships. 

Individual state champions included:

Dramatic Interpretation — Megan Magee (Jr.), a television arts major from Monee, Ill.
Impromptu Speaking — Annie Schuver (Sr.), an organizational communication major from Chesterfield, Mo.
Informative Speaking — Matt Friedhoff (Jr.), an organizational communication major from Wooster, Ohio
Duo Interpretation — Friedhoff (Jr.) and Greg Huber (Jr.), a business management major from Omaha, Neb.
Poetry Interpretation — Kory Turner (Fr.) political science major from Middleboro, Mass.
