Biography

Dr. Moon was appointed Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in January 2022. Prior to joining Bradley, he spent 17 years at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. He served in a number of administrative positions at UNF including Associate Provost, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Interim Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, Dean of Undergraduate Studies, and Chair of Biology. He has provided college-level and university-level leadership in student success, strategic initiatives, curricular innovation, online learning, faculty and academic resources, undergraduate studies, student affairs, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
A first-generation college student, Dr. Moon received a B.A. in Biology with honors from Binghamton University in New York, and a M.S. in Zoology and Ph.D. in Biology from the University of South Florida. An award-winning teacher and scholar, he is widely published in the fields of coastal ecology and environmental biology. His work, which focuses on how environmental factors influence food web structure and dynamics, has been funded by the National Science Foundation, Nature Conservancy, Smithsonian Institution Environmental Research Center, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Dr. Moon has taught courses in subjects ranging from introductory environmental science to advanced biostatistical analysis. He is passionate about mentoring students both in and out of the classroom and fostering within them the curiosity, character, and intellectual independence needed to be next generation of leaders and problem solvers.
