Biography
Dr. Jiao joined the Bradley faculty in 2015. He is a CPA, a member of the American Accounting Association (AAA), and a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). Dr. Jiao had extensive professional experience in the hospitality industry in Las Vegas, Nevada and abroad before returning to school for his doctoral studies.
Teaching
Dr. Jiao’s teaching interests include financial accounting (ATG 401), accounting information systems and control (ATG 383), and accounting data analytics. During his doctoral program, Dr. Jiao also taught accounting for managers.
Scholarship
Dr. Jiao’s research interests are in the areas of earnings management, financial analysts’ forecasts, internal control, fraud prevention, and the corresponding areas in the hospitality industry. His work has been published in academic and professional journals.

Dr. Jiao has served on committees at department of accounting (chair of Awards & Scholarships Committee, chair of Accounting Career Day program, maintaining AACSB accounting journal list, taking meeting minutes, ICPAS Student Ambassador Advisor, participating in other ad hoc committees, and assisting other faculty members time permitting), the college of business (Teaching & Research Committee, and Undergraduate Curriculum Committee), and the university (Continuing Education Committee, and Bradley Core Curriculum Sub-committee). He has also reviewed manuscripts for academic journals and several chapters for a textbook of Accounting Information Systems, and served as a discussant at academic conferences. Outside of academic services, Dr. Jiao has also served as a treasurer for a local swim team, and a stroke-and-turn official for Illinois Swimming.
