Dakota Horn is a Lecturer of Communication and the Basic Course Director in the Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Master of Arts in Communication from Western Illinois University. He is completing his doctorate degree in Communication Education at Illinois State University. He spent time in the private sector before coming back to pursue a career in education. He worked at radio stations, insurance marketing offices, a United States Congressional office, and served on a Board of Education.
He served as a board member of the Illinois Communication and Theatre Association, served as a program planner for the National Communication Association annual conference, and presented research related to the oral communication class at state, regional, national, and international conferences. He believes the introductory communication/oral communication course is the cornerstone to a successful student and citizen.
